How do I know what are the best rubbers for me and how do I know what I am currently playing with?

If you take a look at your table tennis bat, you will see a brand mark at the bottom of the rubber, near the handle. This will tell you what rubbers you currently use. And on the blade, there should be some information about the brand and specific bald type.

How do you know what is right for you? Well it does take a lot of trial and error. The best thing to do to start with is ask to borrow other players bats for a few minutes and hit lots of shots. Then you will start to get a feel for what type of rubbers / blade you like.

Also, if you are a beginner, it's a good idea to start with a blade that is labeled as "ALL" (allround) because the last thing you would want to do would be to get a fancy bat which is too fast for you and you can't control it well.
