[Video] Tom in training…Help me improve! (Sep 2020)

I’m back in training, trying to improve me game. When life returns to normal, I will be entering a few tournaments and see how far I can get.

To help me improve, I have enlisted the help of coach Ferenc Horvath. In particular I have asked Ferenc to help me develop my attacking game and my footwork. I have a habit of being too cautious when I play, so Ferenc is encouraging me to get into my beast mode.

In this video, you can see some of the training exercises Ferenc is getting me to do. Hopefully you will find it useful and can learn from my mistakes and errors.

As always, I am happy to receive constructive feedback. Just leave a comment with your thoughts on what I need to do to improve.

  1. An excellent very helpful video.Like you I need to attack more& it gave me a good idea of what to do.Thank you.

  2. really enjoyed the video and certainly gave me some ideas on what to concentrate on when I am playing socially (or training). I noticed that from your wide forehand you almost always play a cross-court shot (even in your open play) so it is predictable…..

  3. This is a very helpful video. I admire Tom’s drive and capacity to keep improving. I started to read the book Spin as well and it’s full of really useful and relevant advice for my level anyway. (Dinosaur trying to do needlework 🙂
    Thanks again.
